Police clearance certificates
Background checks for employment, travel & visas
Apply at any major station with photo ID, proof of address, and the SBD 50 fee. Most certificates are ready within 10 working days. For overseas visa applications, allow 15 days.

Trained officers support victims of crime, family violence, and sexual offences. We coordinate with the Safenet referral pathway and the Family Support Centre.

Small changes in routine significantly reduce the chance of becoming a victim. Our crime prevention unit can also visit your home or business for a free security assessment.
At home
Lock up
Lock all doors, windows, and gates when you leave or sleep. Don't hide spare keys outside.
Know your neighbours
Register with a neighbourhood watch group. A community that looks out for each other is harder to target.
Light it up
Motion-sensitive lights deter nighttime intruders. Keep entry paths well-lit.
In the community
Report suspicious activity
Call Crime Stoppers on 25555 — anonymous, free, and taken seriously by the duty officer.
Safe travel at night
Travel with others where possible. Stick to lit roads and inform someone of your route.
Public spaces
Keep bags secure and valuables out of sight. Be aware of your surroundings in crowded markets and transport hubs.
Online & financial
Recognise scams
Unexpected calls or messages asking for money or personal details are almost always scams. Hang up and report to police.
Secure your devices
Use PIN locks and don't share passwords. Enable remote-wipe on phones in case of theft.
Guard your documents
Store ID, birth certificates, and bank cards safely. Report loss to police immediately — even if you think you just misplaced it.
For businesses
Security assessment
RSIPF officers can visit your premises and give free advice on security measures. Call your local station.
Staff safety protocols
Train staff on opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and what to do in a robbery.
CCTV and alarms
Visible cameras and alarm systems deter opportunistic theft. Ensure footage is stored securely and accessible to police if needed.
